Ghost Mansion (Guǐ Xiù)
The twenty-third of the 28 lunar mansions, belonging to the southern Vermilion Bird. Associated with the metal planet (Venus) among the Seven Governors, and its animal is the sheep. Almanacs often classify it as an inauspicious mansion.
Gui Xiu is the twenty-third of the 28 lunar mansions, part of the southern Vermilion Bird group. In traditional fortune-telling, almanacs frequently label Gui Xiu as an inauspicious mansion. Consequently, in the past, when undertaking activities where avoiding misfortune was important, people might have been particularly careful to avoid days when Gui Xiu was in charge. This concept of auspiciousness and inauspiciousness stems from ancient observations and interpretations of the stars, and became integrated into the folk custom of selecting auspicious dates. In modern society, these beliefs no longer hold practical guidance, but they remain a part of cultural heritage.
