Dahai Shui is one of the Nayin Five Phases types within the Sixty Jiazi cycle, corresponding to the years of Renwu and Guihai. Its imagery is drawn from the vast ocean, representing the ultimate expression of the water nature in Nayin, symbolizing boundlessness, unfathomable depth, and great inclusiveness. Traditionally, it is considered to have a magnificent force, completely distinct from streams or rainwater. In destiny analysis, its characteristics are often summarized as vastness and the ability to accept all rivers. In almanac explanations, this imagery is frequently used to discuss its productive and controlling relationships with the other Five Phases. Today, this concept is still commonly discussed in traditional culture contexts.
