Dàxī Shuǐ (Great Stream Water)
One of the Sixty Jiazi Nayin, paired with Jiǎyín and Yǐmǎo, with the Five Element attribute of Water.
Dàxī Shuǐ is a type within the Nayin Five Element system of the Sixty Jiazi cycle, corresponding to the years Jiǎyín and Yǐmǎo. Its imagery is derived from water flowing down mountains and gathering into streams; it has a source and flows continuously, but is not a great river. Traditionally, this water is considered clear and vibrant, and in metaphysical analysis, it is often seen as water that has a source and can moisten and descend. Almanacs, in their explanations, often emphasize its characteristics of flow and gathering, using these to discuss generating and overcoming relationships with the other Five Elements. This kind of imagery is a cultural expression of the traditional Nayin Five Element system.
