Spring Water in the Rock is a water-attribute combination in the Sixty Jiǎzǐ Nà Yīn system, corresponding to the two Gānzhī (干支) Jiǎ Shēn (甲申) and Yǐ Yǒu (乙酉). In traditional Chinese metaphysics, this name evokes the image of a spring gushing from cracks in mountain rocks, symbolizing clear water with a source. In classical almanacs, when analyzing a person's Year Pillar or Day Pillar, if Jiǎ Shēn or Yǐ Yǒu appeared, this Nà Yīn was used to infer the characteristics of the Five Elements, helping to judge the generative and destructive relationships between things or to select auspicious days. In modern folk practices for date selection or personal destiny reference, some people still use this classification as a supplementary basis for determining the Five Elements.
