Wǔshàng Tǔ (Roof Earth)

Wǔshàng Tǔ is an Earth-element combination within the sixty Jiazi Nayin system, corresponding to the Bǐngxū and Dīnghǎi Gānzhī. The name evokes the earth covering a roof; traditionally, it is considered not ordinary ground soil but a stable structure built and piled by humans for shelter. In old almanacs, when analyzing a person's Nian Ming or Rìzhù, encountering Bǐngxū or Dīnghǎi would use this Nayin to symbolize stability and support. In folk date selection or fate calculation, this Nayin is often used to help determine Five Phases attributes, serving as a reference for choosing auspicious times or analyzing connections between things.
