Dé Dì (Gaining Ground)

When the element of the Day Master appears within the hidden stems of an Earthly Branch, it is said to be rooted in that branch.

When the element of the Day Master appears within the hidden stems of an Earthly Branch in the Four Pillars, it is said to be "rooted" in that branch, also known as having a connecting root.

Heavenly Stems float above, while Earthly Branches are the foundation. A 'Jiǎ' (Wood) with branches like Yín or Mǎo containing Wood versus one without them differs greatly in strength.

⚠️ To determine if there is a root, one must examine the hidden stems; it is not enough to look only at the branch's primary element.
