Nà Yīn (Sound-Element)
A system that pairs every two of the sixty Jiazi cycles with one of the Five Elements and a concrete name (e.g., Jiazi and Yichou are both 'Sea Metal'), resulting in thirty total. The almanac lists the day's Nayin, while a BaZi chart lists the Nayin for each pillar.

The almanac lists the day's Nayin, while a BaZi chart lists the Nayin for each pillar. Traditionally, Nayin is mainly used to assess the overall temperament in fate analysis and for Five Element compatibility in date selection.
⚠️ The Five Element of Nayin is not the same as the Five Element of the Heavenly Stems and Earthly Branches themselves: Jia in Jiazi is Wood, Zi is Water, but its Nayin is Metal. The two systems are independent; do not mix them up.
