Baihu (White Tiger) is one of the Twelve Duty Spirits (Shi Er Zhi Shen), belonging to the Hei Dao (Black Path) category of malevolent deities. In traditional almanacs (Tong Shu), it is primarily associated with misfortune, death, and bloodshed. Consequently, this day is considered inauspicious for joyous events like weddings or celebrations. However, due to its association with funerals and death, traditional customs held that tasks like burial or encoffining did not require avoiding this day.
