In old almanacs, 'tailoring' (裁衣) typically referred to making important garments, such as wedding dresses or burial clothes. Because these clothes are tied to major life events, people believed that starting their creation on an auspicious day could bring good fortune or ward off bad luck. It was a way of handling important ritual attire with great care.
