Carving

In the old days, carving typically involved creating deities, spirit tablets, shrines, or objects related to worship. Because these items were closely connected to faith and ancestral spirits, the ancients believed the production process must be solemn. Therefore, they would specifically choose auspicious days to begin work, to show respect for the deities and to hope the finished work would bring blessings to all. Today, while such carving may not strictly follow these practices, some still consult tradition and select appropriate days.
