Taking a boat refers to riding a vessel, whether for crossing a river, navigating inland waterways, or venturing out to sea. In the old days, water transportation was heavily influenced by weather and currents, carrying higher risks. Therefore, before embarking on a journey by boat, it was traditionally customary to select an auspicious day for "taking a boat," and one might also perform rituals such as offering sacrifices to the water god to ensure a safe and calm voyage.
