Dì Náng (Earth Sack) is an inauspicious star or evil influence (凶煞) found in old almanacs. The name evokes the image of a 'sack' (囊), traditionally interpreted as a place where terrestrial energy (地气) is blocked or trapped. Therefore, Tong Shu (通书, popular almanacs) generally mark this day as unfavorable. It is especially unsuitable for projects that require open, flowing, or stable earth energy, such as breaking ground, digging wells, constructing canals, or building walls. Fears include encountering obstacles during construction, causing stagnant terrestrial energy, and negatively affecting the project and household peace.
