Gaiwu Heji
Covering the roof and capping it at the ridge.
Gaiwu and Heji are two sides of the same roofing process: the former involves laying the roof covering, while the latter is the final step of sealing and capping the ridge. Traditionally, these two steps are seen as critical for a roof's ability to shelter from wind and rain, forming a complete 'top cover.' They are therefore often discussed together, and an auspicious day is selected for them, in the hope that the roof will be sturdy and the home peaceful.
