Tianyi (Heavenly Doctor)

Primarily associated with medicine; traditionally considered auspicious for seeking medical treatment, curing illnesses, and practicing acupuncture.

Tianyi (Heavenly Doctor) is a type of auspicious deity or star in traditional Chinese almanacs, traditionally regarded as a beneficent influence related to medicine. In the system of date selection found in almanacs (tongshu), when a day aligns with Tianyi, it is often considered suitable for seeking medical advice, treating illnesses, or performing medical procedures like acupuncture. The ancients believed that seeking treatment on such a day would yield better results. While modern life does not entirely follow the old calendar, some people still refer to these traditional beliefs when choosing a time to see a doctor.
