Tianzei (Heavenly Thief)
In old almanacs, a day considered inauspicious for opening granaries, making expenditures, or long journeys due to the fear of theft.
Tianzei is an inauspicious sha or affliction in traditional Chinese almanacs, with its name directly associated with thieves and theft. Traditionally, this day was believed to carry a 'thieving qi,' which was unfavorable for the safety of property and for journeys going smoothly. As a result, the Tongshu (almanac) typically marks this day as a day of taboo, specifically advising against opening granaries to disburse funds, making voluntary expenditures, and undertaking long journeys, primarily due to fears of incurring property losses, theft, or encountering misfortune during travel.
