Wuhe

Meaning 'harmonious combination'; in old times, days designated as 'Wuhe' were considered suitable for meeting family and friends, making marriage alliances, and signing contracts. It is the opposite of 'Wuli' (separation).

'Wuhe' (五合) signifies the harmonious and cooperative combination of the Five Elements. In traditional calendar annotations, specific Heavenly Stem pairings are called 'Wuhe,' symbolizing harmony and cooperation. Consequently, old almanacs often listed such days as suitable for activities requiring harmony and smoothness, such as visiting relatives and friends, forming marriage ties, and concluding contracts. It is the conceptual opposite of 'Wuli' (五離), which signifies separation.
