Opposite of 'Wu He', meaning 'separation'; traditionally avoided for marriages, contracts, and meetings.
Wu Li is a shensha name opposite to Wu He, embodying the concept of separation. In traditional Chinese date selection, 'He' (union) is auspicious while 'Li' (separation) is inauspicious. Thus, old almanacs often marked Wu Li days as inauspicious, as their qi is believed to promote separation rather than union. These days were considered unsuitable for affairs requiring combination, reunion, or agreement—such as betrothals, signing contracts, or meeting to negotiate—lest the outcomes trend toward separation or dissolution.
