Xuanwu

Xuanwu is one of the Twelve Day Gods, belonging to the inauspicious Black Path. Traditionally, the Tongshu (almanac) generally held that Xuanwu governs theft, deception, and murky affairs. Consequently, it was considered taboo to travel far or initiate legal proceedings on this day, fearing one might be swindled, robbed, or lose a dispute. In almanac notations, this deity is sometimes also written as 'Yuanwu'.
